About the Event
Roots of Resilience will be working with 8 different student groups from across Alberta starting June 21, 2021 and into the 2021-2022 school year. We will work with students from and their teachers to facilitate learning surrounding Indigenous foundatioanl knowledge as well as the historic and ongoing impacts of the Indian Residential School system.
At the end of each month, each student group will participate in a panel discussion where they will share their learning to educate other students, parents and educators and to inspire each other to learn more, to support healing, and to take action for truth and reconciliation. Join us, while we listen these incredible from young change makers across Alberta.
The student-led panel discussions will be approximately 30-45 minutes in length and will take place once a month with our kick off session on National Indigenous Peoples Day 2021 and then resuming in the fall after summer break.
We will be announcing the dates of these discussions in early Fall, but all information will be shared with you prior to the panel day.
